Alto's Odyssey is a multi-award winning title. Alto traverses different Biomes on a sandboard, using unique traversal mechanics. The game is an "endless runner" - it never ends!
Hardware: iOS and Apple TV
Platform: Unity 3D, using NGUI
Language: C#
Much of Alto the codebase dates back to 2014. In order to future proof the project, the team decided to replace the deprecating NGUI implementation with Unity's UGUI. The entire UI was replaced, and re-implemented, such that the look at feel were identical. Some UI components had no UGUI analog, and had to be built from scratch.
In addition, the existing UI was adapted to work on an Apple TV using the Apple Remote.
